I’m fixated on reimagining education to meet the needs of students: creating equitable, authentic, and relationship-centered experiences where we flourish and build a better world, together.

Please reach out via email and see an outline of my work below.

Human Restoration Project

  • Co-founded in 2020, working with thousands of educators to "restore humanity to education" through free resources, podcasts, writings, and more.
  • Created a grant-funded empathy interview process for youth voice gathering and analysis protocols, working with 10,000+ students.
  • Developed one-of-its-kind, hyper immersive virtual conference reaching 150+ attendees each year since 2022.
  • Secured a multi-million dollar grant through the US Department of Education to build "schools within schools" focused on interdisciplinary project-based learning and portfolio-based assessment.
  • Scaled organization to 15 full- and part- time employees with adaptive systems, strategic procedures, and remote-first management.

Educator

  • Started digital design and media CTE program alongside social studies certification with interdisciplinary experiential education in social entrepreneurship, video game design, and food security.
  • Created community-engaged learning experiences on programming to theatrical performances, initiating their showcase through school "expo nights" attracting thousands of visitors. Here's three of my favorites.
  • Coordinated international curriculum partnerships implementing real-world projects like archival work and classroom-to-classroom connections across Africa and Asia.
  • Implemented systemic classroom changes eliminating traditional grading in favor of feedback-forward, portfolio-based learning approaches. Iteration drastically improves learning.
  • Led eSports program with 35+ players across three leagues, developing curriculum centered on social well-being and community building.

Website Design

  • Developed custom-designed websites from the ground up with configurable, back-end logistics for clients to easily scale and update content. Learn more and reach out.
  • Incorporated novel solutions on anything from microcredentialing platforms, login systems, payment portals, and course offerings.
  • Built new brand identities and copy for clients, including logo designs, brand identity packages, and multiple options for theme/tone.

There is genuinely nothing cooler to me than immersive experiential learning.

Super Story RPG

American History & Government

Students collaborated with veterans gaming organization StackUp to conduct interviews and learn about veterans' experiences with PTSD, anxiety, reintegration challenges, and recognition issues. They examined how games effectively communicate complex and often difficult narratives, studying examples like "That Dragon Cancer" to understand how interactive media can address serious social issues. Students then prototyped story concepts and game elements, from narratives to soundtracks, considering how games could serve as powerful mediums for changing perspectives on major societal problems. Using RPGMaker MV, they created storyboards and developed playable prototypes while learning about roleplaying game history and storytelling evolution. Students tackled meaningful issues in a serious yet engaging manner, developing elaborate game concepts that they showcased at a "gaming expo" where visitors could play their creations. Their completed games were donated via USB stick to raise funds for StackUp, combining creative storytelling with community impact.

Comic Con: Injustice

American History, Government, and Language Arts

Students began their journey at Gem City Comic Con in Dayton, learning about comic books' societal impact and role in addressing major social issues throughout US history. Over six weeks, working individually or in partnerships, students developed and published original comic books focused on either exposing societal injustices and proposing solutions to government corruption and gridlock, or amplifying voices of historically marginalized groups to highlight their significance. Students mastered digital design tools to create their comics from scratch, using both hand-drawn illustrations and photographic filters to bring their stories to life. They studied comic book history and its connection to social movements like worker's rights and feminism, understanding how the medium has long served as a vehicle for change. Their completed works were professionally printed and sold, transforming student creativity into tangible publications that advocated for social justice and gave voice to underrepresented perspectives.

"Goose Nest"

9th Grade Interdisciplinary Project-Based Learning

Students used an entrepreneurship primer I created featuring activities, articles, and discussion topics to develop their own social entrepreneurship projects. They conducted research, built prototypes, designed branding, and crafted comprehensive business proposals for presentation to real investors. We partnered with a focus group agency and local business leaders to create an authentic "Shark Tank" style investment experience where students pitched their ventures and competed for actual funding. Through these presentations, students collectively raised over $3,500 in real investment money for their projects. Several groups also presented at Wittenberg University's annual "Tiger Tank" competition, where one student earned a summer business incubation internship, demonstrating the real-world viability and impact of their entrepreneurial work.

Iteration as Learning

What if learning continued as we assessed, as opposed to stopped as soon as a grade was issued? I believe that feedback is central to learning — the goal is to improve and find ways to incorporate new perspectives into work. Therefore, all students created design portfolios each year, working in a workshop model to integrate instructor/peer feedback through multiple iterations. Images shown are of a required 9th grade digital design class for students with no formal experience. Some of their learning over time is shown below:

Website Design

For the past decade, I've been passionate about designing websites that help educators, authors, and organizations tell their stories and showcase their work in compelling ways. I specialize in building custom sites through Webflow, a platform that gives us complete creative freedom to bring any vision to life while remaining easy-to-use for clients to manage and grow over time. I'd love to connect if you're interested in exploring how we might work together.
